Along the winding road that leads from Siligo to Thiesi, skirting Monte Pelau, the village of Bessude suddenly appears, nestled around the bell tower of the San Martino parish church. Surrounded by gardens, orchards, and olive groves, it evokes the atmosphere of a Sardinia from another time.

In the historic center, which retains a medieval layout with old stone-paved streets known as impedrados, stands the San Leonardo church, while just outside the village lies the Santuario di Santa Maria della Natività.

To the north is the new district, a cluster of garden villas accompanied by sports facilities and an open-air theater.

The former Palazzo Marongiu now houses an important documentation center dedicated to medieval settlements in the Meilogu region.
