Description
The Church of San Giorgio, dating back to the 12th century, was renovated starting from the 17th century.
In 1623, as attested by an inscription, the works were already halfway through, while in 1688 the churchyard was completed. In 1704 the vaults of the nave were restored and the bell tower was completed, created by the bonorvese masters Juan Francisco Tola and Juan Baptista Coco.
The building has a single hall with four bays, three with barrel vaults and one with cross vaults. The side chapels open onto the central nave with full arches on Tuscan pillars.
The facade, of a late-Renaissance layout, is divided into two orders and retains Mannerist and late Gothic elements, such as the lintelled portal adorned with fluted pilasters and jambs carved with bundled columns.
