Description
The Church, known as the “Convent” or “Madonna della Salute”, dates back to the 16th-17th centuries.
The worship of the Madonna della Salute began in 1855, after a cholera epidemic.
The baroque facade features two overlapping orders, marked by partitions. Above the portal, a keystone from 1790 bears three coats of arms. The pointed bell tower emerges from the left nave.
Adjacent, the convent of the Augustinians used to stand, abandoned in 1863, later becoming a barrack for the Mounted Carabinieri. Today it hosts the municipal museum of peasant tradition and of the horse.
Restored in 2001, the church has three naves and a 19th century altar with decorated columns and a niche with the statue of the Madonna. On the right, an 18th-century altar holds a statue of Saint Anthony of Padua. The Chapel of the Immaculate preserves a painting dedicated to her.
