Description
The village of Itiri Fustialbu developed around this church, the result of two construction phases.
The first, dating between the 6th and 7th century AD, saw the construction of a Greek cross-shaped building with a single apse and two niches added later.
In the 12th century, the transformation into a Latin cross church occurred with the elongation of the nave and the addition of a Romanesque facade.
The structure, with barrel-vaulted roofing and a bell-cote, preserves bichromatic elements in dark basalt.
