Description
The Pattada Knife Museum, inaugurated in 2011, is a unique exhibition in Italy that celebrates the artisan tradition of knife making and its historical evolution.
The museum aims to enhance the contemporary production of handmade knives, with a section dedicated to international craftsmen.
The origins of Sardinian knife making date back to the Neolithic, and the museum testifies to the evolution of these tools, up to the specialization in the typical knife of Pattada, known internationally.
The exhibition tour is divided into four sections: the International Knife, with exclusive pieces made by craftsmen from all over the world; the Historical Section, which illustrates the evolution of the knife, with a focus on the ancient production of Pattada; the Giagu Collection, which presents traditional and innovative knives made by the Giagu family; and the workshop active since 1985, where knives are still produced following traditional methods.
The Culter Museum also offers an educational experience, showing live knife making, a distinctive sign of Sardinian artisan quality.
