Description
Inaugurated in the spring of 2011, the museum of Sorres Cathedral is located in the premises of the former guest house of the Benedictine monastery.
Spread over two floors, it is divided into numerous sections that illustrate the history of the Sorres site from the stages of early evangelization to today.
Inside, you can see artworks of a religious nature from various periods, a numismatic collection of notable interest, and numerous architectural artifacts originating from the ancient bishop's residence and from the restoration of the cathedral church carried out at the end of the 19th century.
There is an archaeological section referring to the prehistoric (Ulari Cave), protohistoric (San Pietro Nuraghe) and Roman era.
