Description
The Burgos Castles Museum is located in the heart of the country, housed in a nineteenth-century manor house that belonged to the Massaiu family. The building extends over three floors and houses a museum path divided into three thematic sections.
The museum offers temporary exhibitions dedicated to castles and a section that explores the history of Spanish coastal towers and the strategic defense points of Sardinia, a central island in the commercial and military routes of the Mediterranean.
Another space is dedicated to peasant life, with a rich display of period tools and utensils that recount the hard daily work of the past.
Furthermore, an area of the museum hosts a collection of historical photographs of Sardinian castles and a multimedia room that offers a complete overview of the approximately one hundred castles on the island.
