Description
The archaeological complex of Sa Mandra Manna is located on a plateau about 3 km from Tula, along an ancient path that leads to the Roman and Byzantine castrum of Castro.
The site is naturally defensible, suitable for agriculture and livestock, reasons that probably pushed man to settle in this area.
Within it, several monuments have been identified, including a prehistoric bicellular hypogeum burial excavated in the southern wall of the plateau, a giant's tomb, a spring, a dolmen and a megalithic wall. The latter, semicircular in shape, extends for 120 meters and has a maximum height of 3 meters. It's made up of two rows of polyhedral boulders, with the space in between filled with rubble.
Among the boulders of the corridor wall, there are linear engravings, mostly vertical, which form lattice patterns and cup-marks. Although there are no direct iconographic comparisons, the presence of these elements suggests a megalithic dating for the site occupation.
