Description
Once belonging to the Duke Antonio Manca of Asinara, feudal lord of the Marchesato of Montemaggiore which included Thiesi, Cheremule, and Bessude, the estate was purchased in 1864 by the noble Don Enrico Garau Boy, who took it over from the duke's heirs.
Today the property is managed by Maria Isabella Puggioni Garau, who runs the agritourism business Sa Tanca.
The company covers about 80 hectares, largely covered by a suggestive century-old forest of oaks and holm oaks.
Strolling through its paths, one can admire breathtaking panoramic views and important historical testimonies: the Romanesque church of San Gavino, unique in the area for having been preserved intact, a nuraghe, a stone quarry, a large lime kiln, and the ancient rural structures that tell the story of the company.
