Description
The Ethnographic Museum "Sa Domo Manna" is set up on the ground floor of the "Palatu 'e Sas Iscolas", a building completed in 1896, located in the historic center of Villanova Monteleone.
The exhibition focuses on three traditional activities of the village: baking, cheese making, and weaving.
Each section illustrates the stages of processing, from raw materials (grain, milk, wool) to the finished product (bread, cheese, fabric).
The journey begins with a model that reproduces the traditional house of the village, developed on several floors and equipped with a stable and spaces for baking and grinding grain.
The first section shows the process of bread making, the second describes the production of cheese, including the "pinnetta" for the shelter of animals, and the third focuses on weaving, from wool to linen processing.
Since 2013, the museum also houses the Rooms of Poetry dedicated to the poet Remundu Piras.
