Description
The Grotta Sa Rocca Ulari is a cavity of 350 m, beneath the cliff where the basilica of Sorres is located, it houses one of the largest colonies of bats in Sardinia, with about 4000 specimens in summer.
The cave is important for the conservation of five species of bats, including some threatened such as the Rhinolophus mehelyi and the Myotis punicus.
Inside it also lives cave-dwelling fauna, typical of hypogeal environments and lithic and ceramic materials have been found attributed to the "Ozieri Culture" (3500-2700 BC).
