Festival of San Costantino

In Pozzomaggiore, on July 6 and 7 of each year, the Ardia takes place in honor of San Costantino, attended by no fewer than a hundred knights in a large crowd.

Description

Wednesday, July 6, 2022:

  • 6:00 PM – Departure of the Banners from the Obriere Maggiore headquarters towards the Parish, gathering of the clergy and proceeding to the church of San Costantino, accompanied by the Città di Sennori marching band;
  • following – Solemn Vespers and Holy Mass in honor of the deceased Obrieri, gunfire;
  • following – ARDIA;
  • 10:00 PM – Maria Giovanna Cherchi in concert, with her “Sirena tour“.

Thursday, July 7, 2022:

  • 7:00 AM / 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM / 10:00 AM – Holy Mass;
  • 10:00 AM – Departure of the Banners from the Obriere Maggiore headquarters towards the Parish, gathering of the Clergy and proceeding to the Church of San Costantino. Gunfire and Ardia. Procession with the Simulacrum of the Saints, accompanied by the marching band and groups in traditional costumes. Upon return, gunfire and Ardia. Presentation of a significant souvenir to all participating knights.
  • 6:00 PM – Tribute to the fallen in war at the monument in Piazza Maggiore.
    following – Solemn Mass with a sermon by Don Alessandro Madeddu, sung by the Coro di Pozzomaggiore and the Cuncordu Planu de Murtas;
  • 10:00 PM – Arisa in concert

Friday, July 8, 2022:

  • 10:00 PM – Traditional Sardinian logudorese songs with Marco Sias, Giovanni Magrini, Torangelo Salis, on guitar Costantino Doppiu, guest of the evening Michele Cossu
  • During the evening – Lottery ticket drawing

July 8, 9, and 10, 2022:

  • Municipal racetrack – Classic show-jumping circuit for youth, organized by the equestrian center of Pozzomaggiore
