Tancas Abertas

The Maria Carta Foundation aims to promote and enhance, also outside the island, the music, singing, and popular traditions of Sardinia.

It seeks to encourage every initiative and activity connected to popular tradition, study the artistic and sociocultural transformations, promote and support the quality of initiatives, and serve as a stimulus and reference point for all those involved in the most genuine expressions of Sardinian tradition.

To this end, the Foundation employs a Study Center, a Museum dedicated to the artist's activities, and also operates through a Scientific Committee to consolidate and strengthen the entity as a place of discussion and a tool for supporting and promoting the rich heritage of cultural and popular traditions of Sardinia.
