Good - Palio de Sas Carrelas

The "Palio de Sas Carrelas" is a spectacular traditional race that animates the historic streets of the village.

The "Palio de Sas Carrelas" is a spectacular horse race that enlivens the heart of Goceano. The event takes place at the municipal racecourse, in the area of Sas Ischinas, where jockeys from the eight historical carrelas (districts) of the town compete in an exciting race, with the aim of winning the prestigious palio in a day of celebration filled with colors, traditions, and the warmth of the community.

This event is deeply rooted in history: originally, the race was held in the historical carrela of Currempalu, but over time the competition has extended to all the districts of the town, involving the entire community and attracting enthusiasts from all over Sardinia.

The Palio takes place every year on the third Saturday of August and features eight historical carrelas:

  • Budullau
  • Quarteri
  • Adda e Riu
  • Santa Caterina
  • Cabidamurru
  • Bonaria
  • Santu Remundu
  • Currempalu

Each "carrela" has its own identity, distinctive colors, and stories to tell. The bond between Bono and the equestrian world is deep and ancient, a tradition that celebrates the union between man and horse in respect of nature and the well-being of animals.
