Bonorva - Carnival
"Su Carrasegare Bonorvesu" is characterized by masked parades, cultural events, and gastronomic traditions.
The festivities begin with the masked party for schoolchildren, followed by the food competition "Pone a modde unu punzu e fae", where participants compete in the preparation of typical dishes based on bread and fava beans.
One of the most anticipated moments is the inauguration of Giolzi, the symbolic mask of Carnevale bonorvese, which takes place in Piazza Santa Maria in the presence of masked groups.
During the event, there are also the "Caccia alla Maschera" for children, theatrical performances in the Sardinian language, and singing competitions like "Il coriandolo d’oro".
The climax of the celebrations is the grand parade of masks and floats, which crosses the streets of the town until Piazza Santa Maria, where the evocative rogo di Giolzi takes place, a ritual that marks the conclusion of Carnevale.
