Siligo - Sausage Festival

The Festa della Salsiccia pays tribute to the local food and wine tradition with tastings, music, and cultural activities.

The event is dedicated to "Sa Sartizza Silighesa", a typical product that tells the story and gastronomic culture of the picturesque village, also known for being the birthplace of the famous Maria Carta.

The absolute protagonist of the event is indeed "Sa Sartizza Silighesa", prepared according to the ancient local recipe handed down from generation to generation. The ingredients speak of tradition: selected meats from wild boars raised in the countryside of Siligo, salt, pepper, cloves, wild fennel seeds, nutmeg, crushed garlic in water, and a characteristic smoking process carried out in the typical chimneys of the village.

The usual tastings of sandwiches filled with Sa Sartizza Silighesa, organized by the Pro Loco of Siligo, are paired at the food stalls with a rich variety of local specialties, including polenta, skewers, roasted sausage, cooked cheese, greasy bread, wine, and beer.

There are numerous moments of entertainment and fun with performances by folk groups, square dancing, ethnic music, DJ sets, traditional games, and an engaging treasure hunt.

For gastronomy enthusiasts, workshops are organized dedicated to sausage preparation.
