Benetutti - Horseback Pentolaccia

In the "Pentolaccia a Cavallo Benetuttese," masked horsemen try to break suspended pots in the heart of the village.

The "Pentolaccia a Cavallo Benetuttese" usually takes place on the Saturday before the Sartiglia di Oristano, as part of the Sardinian carnival celebrations. During the event, the horsemen, organized in pariglie of two or three, travel a route of about 500 meters along Corso Cocco Ortu, aiming to placed at two points along the route. To participate, the horsemen must wear carnival costumes, but the use of the costume of "Su Componidori" is prohibited as a sign of respect for the Sartiglia di Oristano.
