Romana - Feast of the Gardener

The Sagra dell'Ortolano celebrates the richness of the land and the passion for agriculture that has characterized this village in the heart of Logudoro for centuries.

During the festival, the streets of the village are colored with the vibrant hues of seasonal vegetables: fiery red peppers, crunchy zucchinis, shiny eggplants, and intensely fragrant tomatoes.
These products, grown in the fertile lands surrounding Romana, are presented in all their freshness and genuineness, a result of agriculture that respects natural cycles.

But the Sagra dell'Ortolano is much more than just an exhibition of vegetables: it is a journey through the authentic flavors of Sardinia.

Among the stalls, visitors can taste traditional dishes such as “cocoi prenas” filled with vegetables and aromatic herbs, rustic soups, and “casadinas” with a filling of cheese and vegetables, which delight even the most curious palates.

To accompany these delights are the wines of the area, which with their fruity and aromatic notes enhance the flavors of the dishes.

All of this is wrapped in a festive atmosphere, with traditional music, Sardinian dances, and moments of togetherness that make the experience even more authentic.

Participating in the "Sagra dell'Ortolano" means immersing oneself in the culture of Romana, discovering the stories of the farmers, the secrets of recipes passed down from generation to generation, and the love for a generous land.
